Who Should Attend:This training course program is designed for geologists, petrophysicists, engineers and G&G data interpreters who routinely use WFT services (RFT, RCI, RDT, MDT, etc) and actively study WFT data in their reservoir evaluation projects.

Learning Expectations:The Intermediate Wireline Operation training course program will focus on the development of an interpretation summary based on data acquired from either a single well or multiple wells from a reservoir field, quantifying the uncertainty of the data, and benchmarking the confidence level of the interpretation results in the petroleum, oil, and gas industry. Class exercises include using pencils and scratch papers for quick QC and interpretation as is done at the wellsite. Examples and case studies from a number of countries are presented in the training course program. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own difficult cases to the class for public autopsies.

Petrophysical analysis and interpretation of subsurface reservoir well log data is essential to quantify and understand the distribution of reservoir properties and to build reliable reservoir models for maximum economic recovery of hydrocarbons in the petroleum, oil, and gas industry. This advanced applied petrophysics training course program helps participants to develop a more in-depth understanding of the methods used in petrophysical analysis, the related uncertainty of the results and the derived reservoir models. A variety of topics are covered including a review of the fundamental principles of petrophysical tools and principles and how they are used to describe the subsurface, principle, quality, editing and responses of the major open hole logging devices lithology, including shale volume, porosity, permeability, cross plots for lithology, porosity and oil-water-gas saturation, hydrocarbon contents, using Archie, Simandoux, Waxman-Smits, Indonesia, dual-water, capillary pressure curves, and wireline formation testing, core analysis programming for exploration and development wells, capillary pressure curves, cut-off criteria to arrive at average reservoir properties, uncertainty analysis in the petroleum, oil, and gas industry.
